I started my first business in 2011, but the need for better tools started long before that. In school, I needed GPA calculators and citation generators that didn't require a subscription. Planning a wedding meant juggling budget spreadsheets and guest lists with no good free option in sight. Becoming a parent brought a whole new wave: savings calculators, household budgets, meal planning tools. And running a business? Every month I was paying for software I barely used, and every "free" alternative had a catch. Usage caps, forced sign-ups, or files uploaded to servers I didn't trust.
At every stage of life, the same pattern repeated. The tool I needed either didn't exist, cost too much, or came with strings attached. So I started building my own. First for myself, like an image compressor for my workflow. Then for my family, when household budgets and savings tools were needed at home. Then friends started asking. A PDF merger here, a tip calculator there. Before I knew it, I had a whole toolkit that people around me were actually using.
