Free Customizable Prize Wheel Spinner
This tool started as a spinoff. I originally built the What's for Dinner wheel to solve a daily problem that every household knows: the stress of figuring out what to eat. No one wants to make that decision after a long day, so I made a wheel that decides for you. It worked great. But then I started noticing something: I wanted that same feeling of randomness and fun for other decisions too. Should I go for a walk or read? Which project should I work on next? Who does the dishes tonight? I realized a general-purpose spinning wheel could add a little mystery and excitement to everyday choices, so I built this one to handle anything you throw at it.
How It Works
Type your entries into the text box on the left, one per line. The wheel updates in real time as you type. When you have at least two entries, click the Spin button. The wheel spins with realistic deceleration and randomly lands on one of your options. The result is displayed with a confetti celebration so there is no question about what was picked.
Built-In Presets
Not sure where to start? Use the preset buttons to quickly load common wheel configurations: a simple Yes/No/Maybe decision maker, a prize wheel with multiple tiers, Truth or Dare for parties, a household chore wheel, or random numbers 1 through 10. Toggle presets on and off, or mix them with your own custom entries.
Save and Reuse Your Wheels
Save your custom wheel with a name and load it instantly next time. Great for recurring events like weekly team meetings, classroom activities, or family game night. Export your list to CSV to share with others or back it up, and import CSV files to load wheels from another device.
Common Uses
Prize wheels are surprisingly versatile. Teachers use them to pick students for participation. Managers use them for icebreaker activities. Families use them to fairly assign chores. Streamers use them for viewer giveaways. Event planners use them for raffle drawings. The wheel removes bias from any selection process and makes the pick feel fun and fair.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the prize wheel spinner work?
Enter your options in the text box (one per line), then click Spin. The wheel spins with realistic physics and randomly lands on one of your entries. The selection is truly random each time you spin.
Can I save my custom wheel lists?
Yes. Give your list a name and click Save. Your lists are saved privately in your browser using localStorage and load instantly next time. You can also export lists to CSV and import them on another device.
Is the spinner truly random?
Yes. The winner is selected using JavaScript's random number generator before the animation begins. The wheel animation is purely visual and always lands on the randomly chosen result. Every entry has an equal chance of being selected.
What can I use the prize wheel for?
The wheel works for any random selection: prize giveaways, yes/no decisions, truth or dare games, assigning chores, picking random numbers, classroom activities, team building, raffle drawings, or any situation where you need a fair random pick from a list.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything runs entirely in your browser. Your lists, history, and preferences are stored on your device only using localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server.
