How to Play Klondike Solitaire

Klondike is the classic solitaire game most people know from Windows. The goal is to move all 52 cards onto four foundation piles, one per suit, stacked in order from Ace to King.

The Board

Seven tableau columns are dealt at the start — column 1 gets one card, column 2 gets two, and so on up to seven. Only the top card in each column starts face up. The remaining cards form the stock pile.

Moving Cards

In the tableau, stack cards in descending order with alternating colors (a red 6 on a black 7, for example). You can move a stack of properly ordered cards together. Only Kings can be placed on empty columns. Click the stock pile to draw cards to the waste pile.

Building Foundations

Move Aces to the foundation slots, then build up by suit (Ace, 2, 3, ... Queen, King). Double-click any card to auto-move it to the correct foundation if possible.

Draw 1 vs Draw 3

Draw 1 flips one card at a time from the stock, making the game easier. Draw 3 flips three cards but only the top one is playable, adding a layer of strategy.
